Waterman AHW Meets Chinese Delegation

Waterman AHW representatives John North, Managing Director (Asia), Ray Abraham, Managing Director (Sydney) and Scott Brown, Director (Sydney) recently showed the Workplace6 building in Pyrmont, Sydney to a delegation from China.

The Chinese delegation was from the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC), Beijing Institute of Architectural Design, Kunming New Airport Construction Headquarters and Yunan Airport Group. The group is investigating integration of sustainable features into their airport developments and to learn from the Australian green building experience and identify Australian partners for the development of sustainable airports.

Scott Brown was the Waterman AHW director responsible for all building services designs and ecologically sustainability principles for Workplace6 which was the first 6 star green rated building in Sydney. Much interest was shown in the various technologies employed in this building as explained by Scott Brown including tri-generation, absorption chillers, black water recycling, harbour water heat rejection, chilled beam air conditioning, solar cells, advanced lighting controls and more. The tour of inspection was followed by a networking function hosted by Austrade.

Scott Brown commented “It was great to see the enthusiasm for sustainable technologies from the entire delegation. We hope to create opportunities for Australia to export our sustainability expertise to the Chinese region”.
